Therapeutic Riding & Hippotherapy

Heilpädagogisches Reiten Köln is a specialist centre offering certified hippotherapy and therapeutic riding for children and adults with a wide range of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social challenges. Our approach is holistic — we use the movement of the horse as a therapeutic tool, combined with evidence-based techniques from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and educational psychology.

All sessions are conducted on a one-to-one basis with a certified therapist and a trained horse handler. Our therapy horses are specially selected for their calm temperament, smooth movement, and tolerance. They undergo regular training and welfare assessments to ensure they are always in the best condition to support our clients.

We work with clients with conditions including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, physical disabilities, and developmental delays. Many health insurance providers cover hippotherapy sessions — please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
